STEADY AS SHE GOES

Driving through the rainfall, Steady as she goes

Four wheels splash and hum, Rolling down the road

My thoughts wander back to a nice place, Somewhere in the past

Unfortunately for me, Daydreams don’t last

Steady as she goes, Steady as she goes

Steady as she goes, Here we go

Cruising down the primrose path, In and out of the weeds

I’m in it for the long haul, Or so it seems

Shook up or shaken down, Either way it’s the same

Might as well get used to, That part of the game

Steady as she goes, Steady as she goes

Steady as she goes, Here we go

Yet another crossroads, Along the way

Don’t want to get stuck again, Or led astray

Coming to the stop sign, I whip a quick right turn

I can’t ignore the flashing lights, Or the lesson I’m learning right now

Steady as she goes, Steady as she goes

Steady as she goes, Here we go
