CLOSE CALL
Written by Jay Lewallen
The sky lit up and knocked me off course
I heard the thunder, felt the lightnings’s force
When I came to, there wasn’t any pain
Just a ringing in my ears, and the angels sweet refrain
Close Call…It happened in a flash
It was a Close Call…Could have been my last
A hot desert sun, was playing tricks on me
A cool distant mirage, was shaded by some trees
A twist of fate, led me down that path
It’s a small miracle, I ever made it back
It was a Close Call…It happened in a flash
Close Call…Could have been my last
Close Call…Didn’t go according to the plan
Close Call…Do what you can
Was it a vision, or just a dream?
Not sure I was awake, or somewhere in between?
My friend slipped away, into to the dead of night
Reappeared as a prophet, dressed all in white
Close Call…It happened in a flash
Close Call…Could have been my last
Close Call…Now I understand
Close Call…You gotta live life while you can
